Cornell Story
When recording the cast album for Sunny Afternoon, I asked a friend of mine, Paul Cuddeford, if he had an amp that I could borrow that he thought would be suitable. He was kind enough to lend me his Cornell Journeyman for the week. From the moment I played the first chord through the amp I loved it. The fullness of the tone, clean punchiness and the immediacy of the response was better than any amp I had ever played through. I asked Denis if he would make me a 15 watt version of the amp and I went on to use it for the entire Sunny Afternoon West End run. It sounded amazing for 8 shows a week over 2 years and it never once gave me any problems. It's the only amp I use now, and I always get compliments on how great it sounds.
Pete recorded 'Rhyolite' over a year ago, it was all done on the Cornell, except the guest slide solo in the middle by Jack Dandy.
Testimonial
I love the amp Denis built for me. Tonally it just sounds complete, and it responsive to touch and dynamics is fantastic. It's the best amp I've ever owned by some distance. What I like about Cornell Amplification is that I can call up the guy who actually built the amp and he will always have time for you and answer any questions you have. Denis is a lovely guy and there is nothing he doesn't know about amps!
